2012-09-15 - Identified through online information from T. Daniel Hancock. -- Ochse, 1975, reports "a lottery was conducted in 1768 to raise money for a new church and an organ to go in it, and in the same year the 'Virginia Gazette' (June 23) carried the notice: 'On Sunday the 12th instance, the Organ just erected in Stratton Major Church [Williamsburg] was used in Divine service for the first time . . ." -Database Manager
