2012-11-08 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by James R. Stettner, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- The organ was a chambered installation, and is believed to have originally been installed in the rear gallery. It was relocated once within this edifice at an unspecified date, and by an unknown person or firm. The chamber had a wooden grille with five gold-painted metal dummy pipes displayed. In 1957 it was relocated to the parish's new facility. -Database Manager

FINGER PISTONS Full Organ 1 - 4 ACTION: E-P unit VOICES: 4 STOPS: 23 RANKS: 4 PIPES: 328 NOTES When this congregation was seeking their first pipe organ, they made inquiries into two companies: Möller, and the Verlinden Organ Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Verlinden instrument was a stock model designated as V-10. It would have been a 2-manual and pedal organ with 6 ranks, 414 pipes and only 12 speaking stops, but including an almost full complement of intra-manual and inter-divisional couplers. The Great would have had an 8' Open Diapason, 8' Melodia, and 8' Dulciana. The Swell would have had an 8' Salicional, 8, 4, 2-2/3 & 2' Stopped Diapason, and an 8' Vox Humana. A synthetic 8' Orchestral Oboe was derived from the 8' Salicional and 2-2/3' Nazard. The Pedal had a 16' Bourdon exten- sion of the Swell Stopped Diapason unit and borrowed the same at 8' pitch. The console had preparation for future additions. The cost was given as $3,500.00 f.o.b. From Milwaukee and did not include applicable taxes. The Möller organ chosen was installed in a chamber in the rear gallery having a wooden grille front containing a display of 5 gold-painted dummy facade pipes. The organ was moved once within the original church before being relocated to the parish hall of the new facility in 1957, which would serve as a sanctuary until the new worship space was built in 1976 – at which time the organ was relocated once again.
