Notes

2012-11-21 - This is a rebuild of an existing organ. Identified by Randy Terry, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- Original organ by Moller installed in a church in Birmingham, Alabama, and relocated to Florence c1962 by Lavern Norwood and installed in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church with significant tonal changes. A new great Principal chorus was installed on a new chest. A 16' Quintaten, 8' Rohrflute, 4'Harmonic Flute, and 2-2/3 Nazard were also added. The pipework for these additions is stamped "Durst." Norwood rebuilt the organ again c1984, replacing the Moller console and windchests with new units by Reuter, and added the following Reuter pipework: A III Mixture in the great; an 8' Viola and Celeste, 4' Principal, and 8' Trumpet and Oboe in the swell; an 8/4 Principal in the pedal. -Database Manager
