2013-02-05 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by William Dunklin, using information found in in David Junchen's "The Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, an Illustrated History." -- Opus 1351 cost $61,125. It was removed from the theatre before World War II and ultimately was installed in a private residence in Racine, Wisconsin. The Michigan Theatre, at over 4000 seats, was one of the largest and most palatial in Detroit. It was gutted and converted into a parking garage. -Database Manager
