2013-03-22 - Updated through online information from Thurlow Weed. -- This organ is a rebuild of Kilgen Harmonic Ensemble Opus 6226, using all new direct-electric chests, replacing the badly termite-damaged Kilgen chests. A new reservoir was built to the dimensions of the original, with all rubber cloth hinges, gussets and corners. The chests & reservoir were built in North Carolina in 1986, after which the organ sat in storage for 24 years. In 2010 the chests and pipe-work was relocated to Ohio, and installed on the third floor of the residence. Solid-state playing action was provided by Bunn=Minnick Pipe Organs of Columbus, Ohio. The organ uses one of the original Kilgen manuals. In order to imitate a tracker feel, a false windchest with pallets was built, creating a suspended tracker action. Conventional electric contacts are installed under the keys. The stops use Dutch nomenclature. -Database Manager
