2013-03-26 - Altered and relocated existing organ. Identified by William Dunklin, based on information learned from a conversation with James Baysinger. -- It appears that this is the organ originally built for the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. In 1937 it was moved to First Baptist Church, Harlingen Texas. In 1973 (?) it was moved to Mobile Alabama. At some point (2000?) the 3-manual Kilgen console was removed and a new 2 manual console with electronic switching was installed. The opus number 5934 appears to be Kilgen's job number for the installation in Harlingen. It should be noted that Kilgen issued a unique "opus number" for every job they did, not just new organs as they were constructed, but even a sale of small replacement parts got an opus number. -Database Manager
