2013-05-06 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Bob Moody, using information from this web site: http://www.trinitystaunton.org/History.html. -- Organ was originally tubular pneumatic. Was electrified in 1922. Replaced by Austin organ in 1957 at which time Mark Wetzel bought the pipes. Starting in 1943, during his high school yearsm Frederick Swann studied on this organ with Dr. Carl Broman, organist at Trinity from 1938. Some of the pipes are still in use in the Wetzel organ at Grace Episcopal, Cismont VA. -Database Manager
2013-05-10 - Updated through online information from Bob Moody. -- The Etude Magazine reported that the organ would have 32 speaking stops and that the specification was drawn up by F. W. Webb, organist. Mr. Webb taught music at Virginia Female Institute (now Stuart Hall School) and directed the Stonewall Brigade Band. Mr. Webb was the 2nd director of the band I'm the 15th, now in my 38th year. -Database Manager
