Notes

2013-05-26 - Rebuild of existing Hutchings, Plaisted organ of 1883, identified through information in the 2013 OHS Atlas. -- Later modified and relocated to a new building by Russell & Co. -Database Manager

2022-10-26 - In the former Congregational building, the organ stands behind the pulpit platform and the projecting console is on the left side . The oak case displays three flats of 17 gilded Open Diapason basses and 6 dummy pipes, which are partly covered by a curtain. The swell is behind the Great, with the shades facing the console, and the slider Pedal chest is at the rear (actually the right side). The combination pedals and hitch-down Tremolo pedals are not labeled and the Swell pedal was moved from the far right several years ago. The Andover work included partial mechanical renovation, recovering of all the keyboards, and the drilling of more holes in the paneling above the console. The Great chorus has been partially denicked and revoiced. The Dolcissimo has 12 open zinc basses; the Melodia has 12 stopped basses; the Violin Diapason has 12 stopped wood basses; the Stopd. Diapason has cherry caps and 12 open metal trebles; the metal Flute Harrnonique has two octaves of harmonic pipes from c1; the new 2' stop was made primarily of the former 8' Salioional pipes, a 61-note rank that had 12 capped basses; the new 1-1/3' stop was made mostly of the former 4' Violina, 61 pipes; the Bassoon has 9 mitered basses and the Oboe has 12 flue trebles. The tonal changes included moving the 4 ' Flute Harmonique to the Salioional toeboard; the 2' Principal occupies the former Flute Harmonique space. The 49-note stops commence on C0. -- *1972 OHS Handbook* -Paul R. Marchesano
