J. B. Didinger And Co. Church Organ Company Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Built in 1900 Pipe Organ gift to the new church from the philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie, a good friend of Charles Schwab who built the entire church for the parishioners of St. Michael's Church, Loretto, Pennsylvania. William Mayer, personal engineer of Andrew Carnegie, is included on the name plate. The original instrument was tubular pneumatic. After many years of faithful service the instrument fell silent and for many years a two manual and pedal Estey Reed Organ was used. In 1967 through the efforts of the parishioners of St. Michael's, Fr. Alfred Schendel, TOR, and Aliegheri Cannarsa the instrument was electrified and a used three manual console added. A few tonal changes were made. The very decorative facade is original.
