2013-09-18 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Sean Haley, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- The history of this organ is quite vague as there is essentially no documentation for it other than components that were existing at the time the instrument was seen (ca. 2000), and the associated lore. It is rumored that the church was seeking to have a pipe organ in their sanctuary. It has been reported that an unknown gentleman contacted the church about a pipe organ he was willing to install for them provided it was paid in full just prior to its installation. The church dutifully wrote a sizable check to the man, a truck load of miscellaneous pipes, various types of chests in disarray, and a three-manual console were brought to the church. The console, with stops written on masking tape on the tabs, was set at the left side of the platform, and the conglomeration of chests and pipes was placed in two chambers behind grill cloth. The man left, and cashed the check without ever fully installing whatever it was that was brought in. <br>The organ was not functional when seen on site ca. 2000. -Database Manager

Stettner, listing conversations with this person as the source of the information: Church organist, Linda Eaton. <br> According to Linda Eaton, the organ was donated by Bill Gray (Grey? The Moller rep?). She believes the console shell was made by Lorin Minear. And other recycled pipes from undocumented sources were incorporated into the instrument. -Database Manager
