2014-03-03 - Altered and relocated existing organ. Identified by James R. Stettner, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- This organ was originally built by the Wm. Wood of Hillsboro, Oregon for an undocumented location. <br>In 1936, it was moved to the Clark-Rafferty Funeral home in Seattle, Washington by Balcom and Vaughan (or Provorse). <br>In December 1978, the organ was sold to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and installed thereafter. A used 1927 Robert Morton console from the Liberty Theatre in LaGrande, Oregon, was added at this time. It served for a time as the console for William Bunch's residence in Seattle; then Grant Caprioni of Burton, Washington; and finally Genevieve Whitting of Seattle before coming to Gloria Dei. <br>The organ was a 2-manual, 4-rank organ at the time of its re-installation. Later, an 8' Oboe was added to the Swell. The organ was dedicated April 4, 1981 at 4:00 p.m. -Database Manager
