2005-08-23 - On-line update from Judith A. Ollikkala -- The first organ here was a W. B. D. Simmons & Co. two-manual tracker of 1854, prior to 1887. It may have been in the first church building on West Main St., Fitchburg MA. -Database Manager
2008-09-07 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- Free-standing and encased. 3-sectional facade containing 33 ornately-stenciled pipes arranged: 7-[7-5-7]-7. Case of black walnut. This organ was halfway between the Size 11 and a Size 12 models. It had one stop more than a Size 11 (the Swell 8' Cornopean), but one stop less than a full Size 12 (the Pedal 8' Violoncello). The organ was last played on Monday, August 30, 1965 by Miss Judith Percy - just before dismantling commenced. The old edifice was razed to make way for a new public library.
