2021-04-11 - Updated through online information from Jayson Engquist, April 7, 2021. -- This instrument is extant and playable from the original 3-man console in upstairs ballroom and/or the player mechanism (with rolls). The downstairs dining room console was removed some years ago. The mansion was a wedding gift from J.J. Hill (lived next door in a larger mansion) in 1914. After Maud Hill divorced Louis, she moved a few blocks away and altered a house with another pipe organ. The Summit Ave. Louis Hill mansion was donated to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese and used as a convent and a retreat house for some years. It is back in private hands. The current owners often hold benefits in the ballroom for local causes. -Jim Stettner
