Notes

2013-11-07 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Robert Brock, using information found in Printed book from the Boston Organ Club and OHS -John Van Varick Elsworth. -- The organ was originally installed in 1889 at First Congregational Church in Waterloo and then moved to the church's new facility around 1908. Moller (Opus 3917, 1923) replaced the Johnson organ. The Johnson organ was later sold (1924?) to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, just across the street. The Catholic church later replaced the Johnson organ in 1940 with a Wicks organ (Opus 2097). Johnson organ (Opus 726) seemed to be moved to Kansas City, MO where it was thought to have existed as recently as 1975. It has reportedly since been destroyed. -Database Manager
