2013-12-07 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Rodney J. Weed, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- This was my home parish and this organ was installed with the new Church Building built in 1958. A couple of years after it was installed a III rank Mixture and a Trumpet were added. The organ is very small for the size of the church which seats between 600 & 800 people. It cost $9,000.00 when first installed. The organ is in the rear Gallery in two very large chambers capable of holding a much larger instrument. The Chambers are on two sides of a large central floor to ceiling stained glass window of the Nativity. The church was founded in 1896 and in 2000 it was combined with the other two Catholic Churches in Cudahy and is now known as Nativity of the Lord Parish. Because the St. Frederick's church was the largest of the three parishes its buildings were used for the new combined parish. -Database Manager
2013-12-09 - Updated through online information from Rodney J. Weed. -- Since the additions to the organ were completed, it has had minimal maintenance, and with the changes in music in the Catholic church the organ is used only occasionally. The last time I was at the church in February of 2003 it was not even playable. Don't know if it has been repaired since then or not. -Database Manager
