Notes

2014-02-21 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by William Dunklin, using information found in David Junchen The Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, an Illustrated History, p.662. -- Reportedly repossessed by Wurlitzer when the theatre quit making payments. This was not uncommon after the advent of talking pictures. The theatre owners didn't care if the organ was repossessed or not. Wurlitzer re-sold the organ to Chicago radio station WJJD and moved it there in 1935. Supposedly the organ was moved a third time to a church in the Chicago area. Current status unknown. -Database Manager
