2014-02-27 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by James R. Stettner, using information from this web site: http://www.pstos.org/instruments/wa/chehalis/st-helens.htm. -- The organ was designed, ordered by, and installed by C.M. 'Sandy' Balcom - later of Balcom and Vaughan in Seattle, Washington. It originally cost $10,000.00. The organ was sold for $1,000.00 in 1952 and removed to a Seattle residence. It was in several subsequent locations before coming to rest in a museum in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where it still exists (2014). -Database Manager
