2014-03-04 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by William Dunklin, using information found in David Junchen The Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, an Illustrated History, p.663. -- Wurlitzer's opus 1389 was a Style H Special. A stock H had 2 manuals, 10 ranks in 2 chambers and a piano: the largest standard 2 manual design. This instrument was customized with 2 additional ranks and omitted the piano. It was broken up for parts in the 1950's. The Strand remained in operation through the 1960's but has since been torn down. -Database Manager
