Notes

2014-03-31 - This is a rebuild of an existing organ. Identified by Michael Clabough, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- Key and stop action are electropneumatic. The roll-top console seems to have been originally a 3-manual console with the top manual having been removed (?). Manual compass C1 - C61; Pedal compass C1 - G32. The pedalboard is concaved with radiating keys. The Moller-type stopknobs are located in angled jambs to the left (Pedal, Swell) and right (Great) of the manual keyboards.
The organ is situated at the back of a low choir loft (about 7' above sanctuary floor level) to the congregation's left of the chancel, in a modified "Akron plan" sanctuary. It is installed behind a decorative screen of wood panelling and non-speaking pipes, with the Great on the right, Swell on the left, and independent Pedal ranks centered and unenclosed. The console is placed at the far left of the choir loft. Tonal egress into the room is extremely good. Reverberation in the sanctuary is not quite 1 second.
This information is courtesy of Mr. Henry Millen, my teacher and friend, who was organist at the church for many years. Mr. Millen passed away 16 March 2014; he is very much missed by his family, his friends, and the church he served. -Database Manager
