Notes

2014-05-24 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Rodney J. Weed, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- This organ is in excellent working order and looks almost new, Based on a plaque on the organ it appears it was restored to its original 1906 like new condition in 1996. Plaque reads as follows: "The restoration of this 1906 custom built Hinners organ is dedicated to those who lift our hearts with music. 1996" There is no indication of who restored the organ. I will be posting pictures of the organ as it stands as of May 2014. -Database Manager

2014-06-07 - Updated through online information from Rodney J. Weed. -- The organ is in like new condition and everything works correctly and smoothly. The organ puts out more than adequate volume for the size of the worship space. Sometime after 1924 an electric blower was added. In 1996 the organ was totally restored to like new condition. -Database Manager

2014-06-23 - Updated through online information from Rodney J. Weed. -- Remembering that Hinners Opus numbers were often written on the interior panels of the organ casework I went back to First United Methodist church on June 17, 2014 and checked the interior panels of the organ case. I found the number 911 several times inside the organ case. -Database Manager
