2014-08-28 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The organ is still extant and in playable condition. It was just recently played by Stephen Schnurr. The facility - originally built as an armory before being converted to a sporting arena - is mostly used for storage by the City of Louisville. 2015-08-31 - Orginally built for WHAS Radio as 3/7 (Op. 5009) in 1933. Kilgen replaced the Saxophone with a Clarinet in that same year (Op. 5124), and later replaced the Post Horn with a Trumpet (Op. 5198). Kilgen electrified the player piano owned by WHAS, added a mandolin attachment, and made it playable from the organ (Op. 5212). In 1937, Kilgen enlarged the organ to 4/14 and added a new console (Op. 5769). In 1949, Kilgen installed a new console (Op. 7179). In the late 1960s the organ was moved to Louisville Gardens. -Database Manager
