2014-08-19 - The contract and specification was announced in the August 1928 issue of THE DIAPASON as [in the process of] being built and to be installed in time for Thanksgiving day. However, financial issues due to The Depression caused building construction to cease in 1929 and the organ was never installed; the building stayed as it was, frozen in time, until the building was purchased in 2003 by Sage Hospitality Resources; after a $100 million renovation that gutted the building, floors and all, to three remaining walls, it re-opened in 2007 as the Renaissance Providence Hotel. -Database Manager
