2014-08-26 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Rodney J. Weed, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- I visited the Church & organ on August 14, 2014. There is no label on the organ but Fr. Peter Kutch, OFM Cap who is an organist and former pastor of this church told me it was a Kilgen and the console looks exactly like some other Kilgens pictured in the OHS data base. I am certain of the Opus number of 7587 because it is stamped or stenciled on just about every wooden pipe and several other places in the pipe chamber. Based on the Opus number I estimated a build date around 1952. What is there sounds fine but the organ does not have a single mutation or mixture and only 1 4' stop in each division and no stops higher than 4'. The major need for repair is that the Dulciana stop tab on the great has broken off in the on position. They have taped the broken off part of the stob tab to the organ above the space where it should be. -Database Manager
