2014-08-30 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Scot Huntington, using information found in church records. -- The organ was installed to the left side of the pulpit platform in the front corner of the Akron-plan sanctuary. In 1962, the organ was replaced with an electronic, the speakers which were installed behind the gold pipe fence of the Morey façade. The pipes and chassis were sold to organbuilder Sidney Chase of Worcester, New York. Following a brief period when the organ was erected in the Chase Chevrolet dealership in Worcester, (heavily modified tonally), the organ was ultimately broken up for parts and the chassis discarded. -Database Manager
