2023-08-03 - In 1949 the Women’s Association purchased a three-manual Casavant organ, Op. 512, built in 1913 for West End Presbyterian Church. It was originally a tubular-pneumatic instrument, electrified and combined with the console of Casavant’s Op. 811 (1919) from Knox Presbyterian Church in St. Catharine’s. In 1963 plans advanced for a new Casavant organ. There were to be Great and Positif divisions cantilevered into the chancel, together with Swell and Pedal in the loft. The new three-manual console was built in 1963, the Positif Organ in 1976. The organ then had a total of 2,350 pipes. In 1993 this instrument was sold to St. Andrew’s United Church in Peterborough. -- *2023 OHS Handbook* -Paul R. Marchesano
