2018-12-02 - The organ, Opus 882 from Casavant, was first installed in the congregation's old building, Talbot Street Baptist Church, in 1920, front and center behind a facade. After a fire in 1950, the organ was placed in storage. It was re-assembled and installed in side chambers in the present building in 1954, at which time the church took the name First Baptist Church; it was rebuilt by the Principal Pipe Organ Company in 1969. Dodington & Dodington installed a new console (from Casavant Opus 2901, First Baptist, Hendersonville NC) and revoiced the organ in 1999. -Database Manager
