2020-08-24 - The original organ was built by S. R. Warren; Franklin Legge supplied a detached console in 1933; the 1956 Casavant was to be divided in the chancel, but the church at the last minute instructed Casavant to use just the north chamber; after much re-engineering, the organ was crammed into the north chamber with the 16' wood pipes in front of the Swell box out of necessity; St. John's purchased the 4-manual Casavant console (1956 Op. 2317) from Bridge St. United, Belleville ON, in 1997; it was rebuilt and connected in 2007, with many digital stops, by Phoenix Organs to their rebuild of the St. John's organ. -Jeff Scofield
