Notes

2014-09-15 - This organ was built in 1929 by H. A. "Pete" Howell for the Chicago studio of Al Carney, a popular theatre organist and radio personality in Chicago. Its 15 ranks of pipes were played from the 4m console that was acquired from the Chicago Theatre (1921 Wurlitzer Op. 434) after it had been damaged by a malfunctioning lift. In 1934, the organ was purchased at the request of Cardinal Mundelein for installation in the new seminary auditorium. Geo. Kilgen & Son of St. Louis moved the organ. -Database Manager
