2016-07-25 - Originally built in 1929 for the State Theatre in Philadelphia. After languishing for several years, the organ was purchased in 1967 by 21yo Jim Breneman for $1,510, who with his friend, Sam LaRosa, installed it in the Brookline Theatre in Havertown, Penn., where it remained until being water damaged by a flood in 1973. The organ was then moved to the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, Penn. In 1995 the Colonial was closed and the organ sold to the Chicago Historical Society. -Database Manager
