2016-09-13 - Updated through online information from Steve Bartley.
There is good evidence that the present organ in the Mt de Sales Academy, Catonsville MD is the same as the Jardine/Niemann which was in 12th Presbyterian Church.

Restorative repairs are being carried out by David M. Storey Inc., Baltimore on the organ in the chapel at the Mt. De Sales School, Catonsville MD. The organ was featured at the 1991 OHS convention, in Baltimore. At that time the organ was attributed to Jardine, but many believed that it had been a 1 manual instrument in its original configuration. During the current repairs, its configuration affirms the idea that the Swell keyboard, chest & pipes have been added, as the keyboards are of differing construction, and the key action is installed in such a way that it is impossible to do regular maintenance.
Additionally the under side of the foot rest on the bench says "Jardine No.1 Pres St Depot Baltimore" If the organ had been built for Mt De Sales, it would NOT have been labeled with the Baltimore Depot, though it would have passed through that station, but would have had a Catonsville station label.
Additionally, the 12th Presbyterian instrument had been installed, first in a chamber, next to the pulpit, then moved to the rear gallery, then in 1891, when Niemann claims to have built a new organ, the Niemann organ was installed in the front chamber again Inspection of the Mt de Sales organ case shows a rather plain and primitive case sides, as though they had been added at a later date.

The 12th Presbyterian building was sold, in 1902, after the congregation folded. The new owners were a conservative Jewish congregation, who would not have used an organ. An lastly there is no announcement for an organ in the Mt de Sales Academy found in the Baltimore newspapers, though there are many articles about happenings, and new buildings, renovations, etc. It was rare for the new owners of a used organ, in Baltimore, to make an announcement of its acquisition, but they were very eager to announce the dedication of a new instrument. -Database Manager
