2015-08-13 - Updated through online information from David E. Fedor. -- The organ was originally built by Schantz in 1965 for the Church of Our Lady of All Souls in East Orange, NJ. This church closed in 1992, and the organ was purchased by St. Cassian Church in 1993.

The instrument was shipped back to the Schantz Company and completely rebuilt and redesigned and was increased in size by five new ranks. It was installed in the new St. Cassian Church in the early part of 1996 and dedicated on September 22, 1996 by Gerre Hancock.

Since 1998, further work has been done by James Konzelman assisted by David Fedor. This has included further tonal finishing, the addition of six new ranks, modification of the specification to increase registration flexibility, and preparation for the additions indicated in the specification.

The instrument speaks into a church building that was successfully designed to be acoustically live and supportive of vocal and instrumental music. -Database Manager
