Notes

2015-02-23 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Don Hurd, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- Organ had two consoles, one downstairs facing the altar, and the other in a side gallery where most of the organ was located. The echo organ is still intact in the back balcony. The organ worked very well; the echo had been disconnected for no apparent reason--springs on the reservoir were cut, electric wires disconnected. Jed Satchwell, local tech, got replacement springs, and it fired up immediately. Wasn't even out of tune! Huge chimes for a big church in the echo. A gutter leak put water through the Swell, and the church opted to replace with a small Holtkamp rather than restore. The Kilgen had a glorious tone in a great acoustic. -Database Manager
