NOTES
This organ began life as a 2-manual Wurlitzer Style 185Sp, Opus 214 built in
1919. for the Oregon Theatre in Salem, Oregon. It was returned to Wurlitzer
in 1925 and combined with other parts to make a 'new' 3-13 instrument, Opus
1257, which was installed in Salem's Elsinore Theatre in 1926. According to
the Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society website, “Some parts of the original
Style 185 organ were not returned to the Wurlitzer factory. According to the
Judd Walton opus lists, some parts went to Seattle's Trinity Lutheran Church
in 1935. This may have been the console, relay and blower although this can-
not be confirmed.” But the organ does appear on the Balcom and Vaughan opus
list for February 1935. In 1950-51 additions were made by Balcom and Vaughan
as their opus 529. The organ was highly rebuilt in the 1965 revision which
produced the present instrument, which is really a replacement for the Wur-
litzer. The relay and another portion went to the Neptune Theatre in Seattle,
and the tapered string went to Calvary Temple in Seattle.

The Positiv 8' Koppel Floete is taken from the Swell 4' Koppel Floete with
notes 1-12 borrowed from the Swell 8' Gedeckt. The 1 3/5' Terz breaks back
to 3 1/5' pitch at f#3 for the last seven notes. The 1 1/3' Nasat is from
the 2 2/3' Nasat but without extension, so it only plays for 49 notes.

The Swell 4' Spitz Gamba is from the 8' Spitz Gamba but without extension,
so it too only plays for 49 notes from CC-c3. Similarly, the 1' Sifflöte is
from the 4'/2' Koppel Floete, and likewise only plays for 49 notes from CC-c3.

Two of the four blank, black stoptablets on the Great are the former Great
Unison Off and Great to Great 16'. The stoptablets were turned over, so the
original nomenclature is on the underside of the tablet.
