Notes

2015-04-18 - This entry describes alterations to an existing organ. Identified by James R. Stettner, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- This was a project of tonal changes & additions with added regulators, chests, and pipes, and the elimination of some ranks to make room for the additions. -Database Manager

2015-04-19 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- A solid state relay, currently failing, was added in the 1977 work. The console is a combination of coupler slides, gang switches, cross-finger switches, a large battery with capacitors, etc. Wiring was not dressed-in, thoughtfully routed, or labeled. The organ needs a thorough cleaning. All stoppers need to be done. The static regulator in the basement has failed, but has received temporary repairs at the hands of parishioners. Divisional regulators are original leather and displaying signs of wear and fatigue. Reed scrolls were torn open but poorly re-rolled closed. Windchests have been spot-releathered as pouches failed. It is a grand old gem in need of thorough restoration. -Database Manager

NOTES
The organ is installed in several chambers around the sanctuary. Each chamber has a
pipe façade. The choir gallery contains the main case façade which is 3-sectional
containing 23 gold painted pipes arranged: 7 - 9 - 7. The sanctuary side of the
façade is two romanesque arches on adjacent walls - each containing 5 gold painted
pipes. All of the façade pipes are non-speaking dummies. The Great chamber is on the
left wall of the church adjacent to the main case chamber which houses the Choir and
Swell divisions. The Antiphonal and Echo divisions are both at the rear of the sanc-
tuary in separate chambers on the back wall. The Antiphonal and Echo divisions have
ornamental wood grilles, but no façade pipes. The console is located in the front
gallery along with the main case.

The Choir division used to be almost entirely duplexed from the Great except for the
two reed ranks. But in the rebuild and enlargement the shared ranks become solely the
Choir. The Choir 8' English Horn tablet is actually playing the 8' French Horn rank.
The 2-2/3' Nazat was added - taken from the 4' Flute d'Amour.

Similarly, the Echo 8' French Horn tablet is actually playing the 8' English Horn rank.
The 2' Piccolo was added.

The Great had a 2' Fifteenth and a IV Mixture added, though the tablet says III. The
1' Acuta is from the 2' Fifteenth and the top octave repeats.

The Swell III Mixture is the original Dolce Cornet in-part, but it has been modified.
The Swell 8' Vox Humana is located atop its own chest in its own box. The 4' Hautbois
was added and is from the 16' Contra Fagotto. The 4' Prestant/2' Octavin was added.

Four of the finger pistons are engraved with a 0 [zero], and then have an adjacent
engraved plate listing the function.

The OHS 2008 Organ Atlas from their Puget Sound convention has a number of errors -
both in spelling and analysis.
