2017-09-20 - The church was known as St. Paul's Methodist Church when the organ was installed; it retained 22 ranks from the existing unnamed organ; merged in 1930 with Avenue Road United to become St. Paul's-Avenue Road United Church; once one of the city's elite churches, declining attendance in the 1960's and 1970's led to a merger with Trinity United in 1980 to become Trinity-St. Paul's United Church, vacating the St. Paul's buildings; declared a Heritage Building, parties wanting to sell the St. Paul's buildings ran into roadblocks which were mooted when an arson fire destroyed the building on April 24, 1995. -Database Manager
