Johnson, Johnson Organ Co., Johnson & Son: A Documentary Issued in Honor of the Two Hundredth Anniversary of His Birth, 1816–2016 (Cranbury, New Jersey: The Princeton Academy of the Arts, Culture, and Society, 2015), 55: "132 Episcopal Church, Cold Spring, N.Y. [M] 2 [R] 21";<br><br>"The church is St. Mary-In-the-Highlands. The first church, of brick, was consecrated in 1841, and was the original location of Op. 132, which stood in the gallery. A 1920 history records that the present stone edifice was built 1868 and consecrated in July of 1869, and the nearly new Op. 132 was moved there. In 1898 it was replaced by a 2-15 Farrand & Votey, and sold for $400 to a church in New York.<br><br>In July of 1961 a fire broke out in the north transept, causing damage to the roof and interior, and the organ and most of the stained glass were lost. During repairs in 1962 the organ console was moved to the opposite side of the chancel, but nothing is known about the replacement." (The organ lost in the 1961 fire would appear to have been the 1898 Farrand & Votey unless that organ had been replaced by a later instrument.) -Database Manager
