Notes

2015-09-26 - Owned by Doug Bailey, Washington area film producer, and installed 1965 in WXLN Radio Studio, located on lower level of the Congressional Plaza shopping mall in Rockville, Maryland.
"The organ is a hybrid, mostly Möller. The ornate console came from a 2/7 [2/10] Möller in the Shoreham Hotel (built about 1932) [1930, Op. 5849]; it was in the ballroom, and a plain-Jane twin console controlled the same pipes from the lobby.
"Most pipe work, chests, percussions and traps are from the Loew's Palace [Washington, D.C.] 3/32 Möller. Two treasures are a large-scale marimba, which sounds like another rank of pipes when on reiterate, and a 61-note chrysoglott with piano-type action.
"The control room, chamber, studio and blower-relay room occupy a total of only 900 square feet, but expansive use of Masonite and avoidance of parallel walls in the studio and chamber have created a well balanced sound, both to the ear and the microphone."
