Notes

2022-07-22 - This organ was significantly altered/rebuilt by local technicians in the late 1990s to early 2000s. Very little of the original Kilgen exists in its original condition. Many ranks were removed, replaced, or improperly revoiced during this time. The casework was significantly altered and the non-speaking facade pipes removed. The casework alterations negatively affect the serviceability of the instrument. Great principal chorus was replaced at some point with speaking but unvoiced supply house pipes on home built, triangular, DE chests. The organ control system was replaced at some point with a conglomerate of Peterson, Solid State, and other circuitry of unknown manufacture - none of which is working reliability. The current console is by Austin and has a Klann digital combination action installed. The original Austin key contact system was retained in the previous rebuild and no longer operates reliably. Within the past few years, a new company has taken over the maintenance of the organ and is working with the parish on a full, but staged, rebuild of the organ. Their work has been done professionally and properly, resulting in greater overall functionality of the organ and improved tone on ranks that previously had voicing issues. -Nicholas Koch
