Identified by Steve Bartley, using information found in Der Deutsche correspondent., December 06, 1872, Image 4.<br><br>This was August Pomplitz magnum opus, built for the then newly constructed Mt Vernon Place Methodist Church. Organ was in the rear gallery.This specification is not complete, as the writer for the newspaper, indicated they did not know some of the names of the stops.<br><br>Moller installed a new organ in 1921, of similar size, but much different specification, not indicating if any old pipes were reused. In 1955 Moller again renovated the organ. 2016-09-03 - Updated through online information from Steve Bartley. <br>Sun Newspaper, 12/18/1878 pg 4 Article covering an organ concert at Mt Vernon Place Methodist. "…… The fine organ of this church has been undergoing repairs fir some time, which were completed about two weeks ago. It has been revoiced, had pneumatic action put in, new stops, new clarionette[sic], &c., and generally overhauled. The air is forced up through a pipe from below, and is perfectly noisless. The amount realized by the concert is to be devoited to the cost of the organ repairs." -Database Manager
