Notes

2016-03-09 - This organ is made up of parts from the Marr & Colton organs in the Rivoli and Palace theatres in Toledo. Both theatres were razed but the City of Toledo stored the organs in an unused fire station. In the 1970s, the Toledo Area Theatre Organ Society (TATOS) approached the city about moving the organs to new homes. Unfortunately, the station roof had leaked and many chests and pipes could not be used. Ultimately, the TATOS combined usable parts of the two organs to make one playable organ. In 1977 the city gave the organs to TATOS provided they remained within the city. After much searching, the Ohio Theatre accepted TATOS's proposal to install the organ there. Work on installation began in 1977 but wasn't completed until 1985. The Ohio Theatre was closed for renovation in 2012 and reopened in April 2013. -Database Manager
