Notes

2016-06-12 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by William Dunklin, using information found in a vintage postcard. <br>Church of the Advent was formed in 1902 and moved into their new home in 1906. Interestingly, their organist and choir director at the time, Elmer Jensen, was also the architect. A postcard from 1908 shows the chancel laid out in an academic choir arrangement with the organ in an arched recess on the left if looking at the altar. The polychromed facade is in three flats with a small amount of upper casework. The console is attached. In the mid 1920s Advent Church built a new sanctuary adjacent to the original and bought a Moller organ for that building (q.v.). The 1906 building was converted to church offices and other support functions. Fate of the 1906 organ unknown. -Database Manager
