2016-06-12 - Organ relocated without any change. Identified by James R. Stettner, using information from this web site: https://archive.org/stream/storyofmethodist00thom/storyofmethodist00thom_djvu.txt.<br><br>It is not presently known what individual or firm did the relocation, nor what - if any - tonal or mechanical changes may have been made. The history of the Methodist Church in Leaksville, North Carolina called 'ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY YEARS OF PROGRESS AND SERVICE' written by James Oscar Thomas (1957) is available online.<br><br>In the opening chronology (pg. 3) of important dates entitled 'Historical Highlights', we find, "1928 - First pipe organ installed. Miss Bessie Clark (Mrs. S. P. Ray) was the organist." On page 29 we find, "In 1928 a two-manual pipe organ was installed. This Moller organ, built in 1908, was purchased from Hazelburst, Missis- ippi, for the sum of $1500.00. Tliose who paid a substantial part of the total cost were E. B. King, B. F. Mebane, C. P. Wall, J. F. King, Mrs. Nannie King Quid MRS. s> philip ray." This organ seems to have been moved to the new building in 1954-55, but was replaced by a new Moller in 1958. It's subsequent disposition is unknown. -Database Manager
