Notes

2016-06-23 - This entry describes alterations to an existing organ. Identified by James R. Stettner, based on personal knowledge of the organ. <br>The original luminous console had been previously replaced by Olympic Organ Builders. Homer Johnson replaced the original Estey Choir 8' Clarinet with an 8' Trumpet; and the Swell 8' Salicional with a 4' Principal. No other changes are known to have taken place. -Database Manager

2019-05-23 - Updated by Les Sinclair, who has heard or played the organ. <br>One alteration was made. The choir Clarinet was replaced with a Trumpet. Last I knew, the Clarinet pipes were stored in the chamber. The original console was replaced. <br> -Database Manager

2023-05-06 - The instrument is not used often and the combination action functions, but not well. There is an antiphonal Echo division in the back of the auditorium above the balcony, accessed through a tone chute similar to the one up front. -Elliot Sander

NOTES
The Great, Swell, Choir, and Pedal 16' Bourdon are located in side-
by-side ceiling chambers at the front of the church. The Pedal 16'
Open Diapason is the only rank with pipes outside of expressive
chambers. The Echo is in a ceiling chamber at the back of the
church, and speaks thru a chute.

The original console was in fixed position at the right with the
organist facing across the platform. In the late 1960's or early
1970's, Glen D. White of Olympic Organ Builders in Seattle replaced
the original luminous console. It is not known if any tonal changes
were made then, but based on current stop nomenclatures – it seems
possible.

In 1976, Tacoma organ technician Homer R. Johnson made a few tonal
changes. The Choir 8' reedless Clarinet was replaced with a new 8'
Trompette. On the Swell, the 8' Salicional was replaced with a 4'
Principal. The Swell III Dolce Cornet was renamed Mixture and the
composition was altered. The disposition of the original 8' Sali-
cional is not known.
