2016-06-24 - Information from <i>The Aeolian Pipe Organ and Its Music</i> by Rollin Smith (OHS: 1990)<br> Originally built in 1920 for the Pierre Samuel du Pont residence, "Longwood", in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. When a new Aeolian, Op. 1726, was installed at Longwood in 1929, the former organ (Op. 1472) was moved with a new console and four new stops (Contract: $18,000, paid for by du Pont) to Mitchell Hall, University of Delaware, Newark, Delware. The $350,000 auditorium was given by H. Rodney Sharp, du Pont's brother-in-law. -Database Manager
