2016-11-16 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by William Dunklin, using information found in a vintage post card.
A postcard from circa 1908 shows a modest pipe organ standing in an arched chamber to the right of the chancel. A simple pipe fence facade of 17 Open Diapason pipes faces the nave. In the photo, the attached console's lid is open, showing tilting tablets above the manual. The altar rail partially blocks the view of the console, but the distribution of the stop tabs suggests 2 manuals and pedal.

The existing sanctuary was constructed in 1903-1904. According to the church's website, at that time "The church building was enlarged with a new sanctuary on the second floor, which was dedicated in 1904. The new sanctuary featured a pipe organ donated by Andrew Carnegie and stained glass windows and altar artwork by renowned artist Nicola D'Ascenzo. In addition, a clock was installed in the steeple and electric lights were installed."

This organ was replaced by a Casavant organ in 1961. Fate of this organ is unknown. -Database Manager
