2016-12-07 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by William Dunklin, using information found in a vintage postcard.
A postcard circa 1955 shows the organ standing front and center in an arched opening. The case is obviously either from the late 19th or early 20th century. A detached console is visible at the far right, suggesting that the organ had been electrified.
The congregation dedicated this building in 1883. It was extensively and crudely remodeled in the 1950's. They moved to a new location in 1966 and this building was torn down. This organ was not moved to the new facility, its fate unknown. The congregation now owns a Casavant. -Database Manager
