Notes

2017-05-05 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ.
Identified by William Dunklin, listing this web site as a source of information: https://archive.org/stream/movingpicturewor35newy#page/704/mode/2up/search/organ.
Motion Picture World Magazine for February 2, 1918, page 704, describes the new Majestic Theatre in Shamokin Pennsylvania and mentions the new $8000 grand "Barkoff" (sic) organ. Barckhoff went bankrupt in 1917 and was acquired by E.C. Malarkey. The timing and names used suggest that this was one of, if not the, last Barckoff organs. The Majestic was razed in the 1960s. Fate of the organ is unknown. -Database Manager
