2017-05-28 - This entry describes a new home for an organ that was relocated without either tonal or mechanical changes.
Identified by James R. Stettner, listing this website as a source of information: http://www.christchurch.org/Time%20Line%20Two.htm.
A church timeline linked from their website states, "1951: A second hand organ is given to us by the Church of the Holy Comforter in N.Y.C. and reconditioned and dedicated to Grace Hynard. A new door and organ curtain are hung in the area around the organ." -Database Manager
2017-05-29 - Updated by James R. Stettner, who gave this as the source of the information: Consultation with Steve Lawson and the New York City Organ Project.
After reviewing the New York City Organ Project website and consulting with Steve Lawson, it seems likely that the used organ came from the House of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in the Fordham Manor neighborhood of The Bronx. But that sheds no light on who the builder was. The organ history dates for Holy Comforter in the Eltingville neighborhood of Staten Island do not match with the organ history dates for Christ Episcopal in Warwick. Church of the Holy Comforter on West Houston Street in Manhattan had a 2-manual, 13-rank 1888 Odell, but evidence of that church ends in 1923 - so again, the date lines do not match. -Database Manager
