2017-06-02 - Originally installed in the National Theatre, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1965, the organ was sold to a local organ buff who installed it on the ground floor of a two-story commercial building he had purchased. Junchen-Collins Organ Corp., of Woodstock, Illinois, purchased the organ in 1977 and refurbished it for the Organ Grinder Restaurant chain, who intended to have it installed in a Montreal outlet. The firm never opened the restaurant and the organ was donated to the Kingston Theatre Organ Society of Kingston, Ontario; however, the group retained only the console elevator and sold the organ back to Junchen-Collins. The Barton remained in storage until the organ firm was purchased by Burton A. Burton, owner of the Casablanca Fan Company. Burton moved the organ to South Pasadena; he later liquidated his organ holdings and donated the Barton organ to the Los Angeles Theatre Organ Society. Ultimately, the organ was installed in the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, where it was enlarged to thirteen ranks. -Database Manager
