Notes

2017-06-10 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ.
Identified by Andrew Schaeffer, citing information from this publication: Office Files.
-Database Manager

2017-06-13 - Updated by Andrew Schaeffer, naming this as the source of information: Original Contract from Temple Office Files.
According to the contract, this unique instrument was supplied with "the Kimball self-playing Solo Device, to be operated by Aeolian Grand Rolls." This instrument lived a relatively short life since the Scottish Rite Masons outgrew the building in just 15 years, at which point they moved up the street and constructed what is still the largest Masonic building in the United States. That building contains a 64-rank 1926 W.W. Kimball organ that is frequently used for concerts, tours and reunions today. For anyone undertaking research on Kimball organs, the Guthrie Consistory has extensive records of correspondence regarding both instruments. -Database Manager
